“PRA Audio has managed to make the smallest wireless unit I have ever seen while retaining the tone of my guitar. Night after night I sweated all over mine and it never missed a beat! WiC is the breakfast burrito of wireless units!” Ryan “Fluff” Bruce

Please tell us about yourself and your latest projects?

My name is Ryan Bruce, my friends call me Fluff. I run a YouTube Channel called

Riffs, Beards & Gear and also work at JST Plugins and tour occasionally.

What got you into music and what was the first concert you attended?

Growing up in Seattle in the early 90s the local Grunge scene was a massive influence. My first concert was Gruntruck and 7 Year Bitch (so grunge right?)

Tell us about the first gig you ever played?

My high school talent show, I had a pedalboard of 9 vintage Electro-Harmonix pedals and didn’t know how to use them. Hilarious.

What was your most memorable performance?

Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA. Hundreds of kids came out and sang along to every song in the set. Amazing!

What are you listening to now?

The new Meshuggah, Every Time I Die, Willie Nelson and The Eagles.

What is your deserted island album?

Mastodon – Blood Mountain

And if you were stuck on the deserted island and could only have one type of food and drink (besides water) what would that be?

Hmmmmm probably a breakfast burrito and CranApple juice.

Who is one person you would like to meet (alive or dead, musician or not)?

I would love to hang out with Dave Grohl!

Who would you cast to play you in a movie?

Def Richard Karn (Al from Home Improvement)

Besides music, what are you into?

Audio, mixing, guitars, amps, old cars and woodworking stuff

Interview is not an interview without talking about gear. So let’s talk gear. Must have, best for studio, a must for tour?

Studio = A Good DI Box (I like the Little Labs Red Eye). Tour = Baby Wipes

Speaking of tour… any previous tour stories you want to share?

Our singer put Regular gas in the van after being told not to, and we got to Vegas and it was so hot the gas was evaporating from the lines so the engine wouldn’t run. In 115 degree heat. It was a nightmare.

Tell us about your experience with PRA Audio and WiC Wireless System?

I did a West Coast tour and many shows with the WiC and they were incredibly rock solid and last show after show without a re-charge it was really something!

Name one thing no one knows about you?

I don’t use any beard product.
